There were some doubts expressed at the draw about how the match would fish, given that there was some ice still present in the far margins of the pond; however, the results on the day probably exceeded most competitors expectations. No one blanked and most had at least one decent fish to show for their efforts. Mark Hayley on his first Horsham match came out on top with a level 30lb made up of 3 carp plus a couple of skimmers taken on the feeder. Kevin Whittaker had 2 carp plus a couple of bream for second whilst Ray Smallwood had 1 carp and 3 bream for third.
